 Hello. Thought I would give a fishing report for the Watauga and South Holston Rivers. Float fishing on the Watauga has been productive and the preferred trip. Wade fishing on the South Holston River has been the only option here lately due to TVA working on the
dam. They should have this fixed by mid July and will continue afternoon flows for float fishing. We have had great success catching trout with all flies. Caught them on dry flies, nymph rigs and dry/droper rigs.Summer is a great time to come up to the high country and experience our cooler tempertures. We tend to be 10 degrees cooler than lower elevations. Let me know if you have any dates in mind and lets go fishing.
