Hello to all from High Country Angler. Thought I would give a fishing report for the South Holston River and Watauga River here in East Tennessee. The fishing has been great throughout the summer and will continue into the winter. We have been fishing nymph rigs and
beetles primarily and having fantastic success. All the rivers and streams are in great shape due to the amount of rainfall we have had this year. It is nice to have a change from the drought conditions we were having in the past years.
We have also been doing some smallmouth fishing this summer and catching some nice ones. This is a great alternative trip if you have been down the Watauga and South Holston Rivers serveral times. We are catching them on streamers and poppers. This is a fun fish to hook up and they are feisty. The scenery is great and it is a neat trip to experience. We still have dates open for the remainder of August all the way into the winter. Give us a call or email and lets do some fishing. Be sure to check out all the new pictures of our Summer trips. |
